"Horse gram is a lesser known legume crop, sometimes black and brown in colour. This particular crop dwells from the pristine middle Himalayan region of Champawat district, Uttarakhand bordering Nepal.
Kulath is consumed as a whole seed made into a popular curry in the mountains, particularly in winters, as sprouts and as a stuffing in chapatis.
